China's most advanced display panel main plant was completed

The "Super Factory" for the production of curved screens and folding screens-Tianma's sixth-generation flexible AMOLED project main plant in Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone was successfully capped yesterday, which was one month earlier than the original plan, refreshing the construction of panel plants of the same industry and the same scale speed.

As a key project of China's "14th Five-Year Plan", Fujian Province, and Xiamen City, Tianma's sixth-generation flexible AMOLED project is the largest flexible AMOLED monomer plant in China and the most technologically advanced AMOLED factory. As an important development direction of new display technology, AMOLED has broad application prospects in terminal markets such as smartphones, wearable devices, and vehicle displays.

Since the start of construction in May 2020, Tianma's sixth-generation flexible AMOLED project has overcome technical difficulties and ensured the quality of the construction period with the support of the Torch High-tech Zone Management Committee, Xiang'an District Government, and Tongxiang High-tech City Command Strict efforts to prevent and control the epidemic, the main plant of the project only took 210 days from excavation of the earth to the top of the structure.

Wang Lei, executive vice president of Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and general manager of Xiamen Tianma Display Technology Co., Ltd., said that the early capping of the main factory building will buy more time for subsequent equipment installation and commissioning. Tianma will complete the project with high quality for the first half of next year. The production line is completed and a solid foundation is laid for mass production in the second half of the year. After the project is put into production, it is expected to process 48,000 flexible display substrates per month.
